Portraits of people who were living in 1911

All the people pictured here appear on the 1911 census for Wickhamford. This is an attempt to offer a pictorial record of everyone who was living in the village at that time. The photographs were taken on various dates, generally later than 1911. People are listed in alphabetical order. If you click on a picture, this will often take you to an uncropped version of the same picture. We are grateful to everyone who has lent us photographs to include here.

If you can provide pictures of missing people, do please contact us by emailing wickhamford@badsey.net

The Willoughby family in 1911 lived in one half of the present Brookfield Cottage in Manor Road. John was a cowman on a farm; James and Thomas were market garden labourers. Their father, James (1843-1913), was a steam plough engine driver; their mother was Ann nee Hartwell (1847-1920). Both parents are buried in the churchyard, in separate plots, but no gravestones survive.
