Julius Sladden married Eugénie Narcisse Mourilyan, a British subject, on 15th December 1877 at the British Embassy in Paris. The wedding invitation was in French.
Eugénie pressed Julius’ floral buttonhole and placed it in an envelope with the words, “Julius’ buttonhole on our wedding day, 15th Dec 1877, E.N.S.”
The menu cards, one each for the bride and groom, were printed and embossed in gold.
