MR BALFOUR AS BAZAAR OPENER.

Mr A.J. Balfour, who is staying with Lord and Lady Elcho at Stanway, near Evesham, attended the opening of a bazaar at Wickhamford Manor yesterday in aid of the restoration of Wickhamford Church. Mr. Balfour said no one was more surprised than he to find himself assisting at the opening of a bazaar, but it gave him great pleasure to help one of the beautiful churches which abounded in the neighbourhood. He had every confidence that the work they had entered upon was work of restoration, and the aim was to preserve and not destroy. Considerable business was done in the sale of Mr Balfour’s autograph.
