BADSEY SOLDIER KILLED

Information has been received that Private Arthur McDonald, grandson of the late Mr J H McDonald, formerley headmaster of Badsey Schools, was killed in action while advancing in the second attack east of Ypres on August 16th. Private McDonald, who was 19 years of age, spent most of his early life at Badsey, which he left in November 1913. He joined the army in February last, being attached to the King’s (Liverpool) Regiment. He was afterwards transferred to the MGC in April, and proceeded to France in June. We hope to give a photograph of Private McDonald next week.
