THE VARIOUS DECLARATIONS OF WAR

The declaration of war by Roumania against Austria-Hungary, of Germany against Roumania, and Italy against Germany complete a very formidable list:

1914

  • July 28 – Austria against Serbia.
  • Aug 1 – Germany against Russia.
  • Aug 2 – Germany at war with Belgium.
  • Aug 3 – Germany against France.
  • Aug 4 – Great Britain against Germany.
  • Aug 5 – Austria against Russia.
  • Aug 6 – Serbia against Germany.
  • Aug 11 – Montenegro against Austria.
  • Aug 11 – Montenegro against Germany
  • Aug 11 – France against Austria.
  • Aug 13 – Great Britain against Austria.
  • Aug 23 – Japan against Germany.
  • Aug 25 – Austria against Japan.
  • Aug 28 – Austria against Belgium.
  • Nov 2 – Russia against Turkey.
  • Nov 5 – France against Turkey.
  • Nov 5 - Great Britain against Turkey.
  • Nov 7 – Belgium against Turkey.

1915

  • May 24 – Italy against Austria.
  • Aug 21 – Italy against Turkey.
  • Oct 15 – Bulgaria against Serbia.
  • Oct 18 – Great Britain, Russia and France against Bulgaria.

1916

  • March – Germany against Portugal.
  • Aug 27 – Italy against Germany.
  • Aug 27 – Roumania against Austria.
  • Aug 27 – Germany against Roumania.

Roumania has been long in waiting her opportunity, but she has chosen a time when her efficient and well-equipped army will be able to strike with its fullest effect.
