Vol 23, No 5, May 1918 - Pte W Keen is reported a prisoner of war; communication has been received from him. One of Pte Keen’s comrades writes: “He was one of the best men that we had, always cool when we were in a hot corner. He put confidence in me a good many times when I felt a bit shaky.”

Vol 23, No 6, June 1918 - The only word approaching a grumble [of prisoner-of-war life] is to be found in Pte W Keen’s observation: “I have never had such a lazy month in my life.”
