Orchard Way

Orchard Way consists of four cottages to the side of The Lankets, that were built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. There are probably the oldest labourers’ cottages in the village and hence are grade 2 listed. It is clear to see that the cottages have been modified several times in their lifetimes with several different types of stone and brick being used. Looking at the slopes of the gable ends it is possible that the cottages were once thatched. In the early 2000s several of the cottages were in a state of very poor repair but fortunately they have been since refurbished and rescued.
