Quarterly Badsey Society newsletter sent to members. AGM was well attended and Officers and Committee were re-elected. There was much interest in the 1968 photographic survey of Badsey’s properties. Future events: “The 2008 Badsey Expedition” an up to date photographic survey of all properties in Badsey & Aldington which will form part of Worcestershire Photographic Survey; Whit Walk will be along Badsey Undergrounds to Wickhamford and back via Francis’ Grave; stands at Aldington Fete and Badsey Flower Show and Bob Brown’s talk on “Clues in the Landscape”. Report on our Enclosure Map Project which went through to finals of national Marsh Award for Community Archaeology. Victoria Bryant of Worcestershire Historic Environment & Archaeological Service had given us glowing testimonial and Dr Mike Heyworth of Council for British Archaeology said we were one of four finalists. Maureen Spinks and Richard Phillips were due to give a presentation at “Discover Archaeology LIVE” Show, Olympia. Without efforts of Edward Phillips, (mapmaker of Coventry) we would not have had benefit of an 1812 Badsey map! Report of death of Margaret Castle and an obituary on Tony Jerram, Society’s first Chairman. Article on SOS in Morse rung out by St James’ Church bells when ten Church members were accidentally locked in. This was reported on front page of the 1999 Birmingham Evening Mail. Committee members: Will Dallimore (Chairman), Maureen Spinks (Secretary), Terry Sparrow (Treasurer), Ian Gibson, Mike Lovatt, Jane Neill, Richard Phillips, Neil Thould.
