Photographs of four paintings done by John Bird from memory: (i) "My water colour of our pigstys during the 1940s; the pigs often got out, note the slaughter bench I'm stood on"; (ii) "As the High Street was in the 1940s: Poplar House as it was, Wheatley's butcher's shop; the long high wall as it was and the footpath grey rounded top stone on edge and curb also which went from the Manor drive all the way to the house next to the Stone House by The Wheatsheaf"; (iii) "My water colour of Badsey Recreation in the 1940s to 1950s; the Rec was used during the war for army transport parking after Dunkirk"; (iv) "When they played cricket on Rec on coconut matting, I remember."
