Badsey & Aldington Trail - Location 2

Allotments

This 12 acre site for the use of the whole village comprises a heritage orchard, burial ground, 30 allotments, woodland, wildflower meadows and a wetland area.

To the left of you are 30 allotments, and behind them behind the central hedge is the wetland area. Behind the wetland area is the burial ground which came into use in March 2022, surrounded by an ornamental garden. The rest of the site comprises a heritage orchard of 240 mainly local varieties of apple, pear and plum trees, planted in 8”pockets” interspersed with wildflower meadows that will encourage birds, insects and small animals.  Around the boundary of the site, over 2500 trees and shrubs have been planted in woodland to provide a habitat for larger mammals and birds.

Further information can be found at the main entrance to the site.
