Mrs Smith of Pool House had been confined to the house for some years, but this loss of liberty and the gradual loss of her sight did not quench her cheerful optimism and Christian hope. Nor did it diminish her prodigious output of crochet work, the sale of which raised many pounds for the Saria Joel project.
