Elizabeth Letitia Sladden

Elizabeth Letitia Coster (1841-1922), known as Bessie, married Dilnot Sladden in 1866 in Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand.  Born in Somerset, she travelled to New Zealand in about 1860 to visit her brothers.  Following marriage to Dilnot, Bessie had 11 children.  In the second photo, Bessie is pictured with her daughter, Mabel Bessie, in about 1876.

Bessie spent the rest of her days in New Zealand, dying at Petone in 1922.
