Wedding of 27-year-old Stephen Thomas Crisp (1912-1997) to Florence May Yates (1919-2009), known as Florrie, in the last quarter of 1939, shortly after the outbreak of the Second World War.
Stephen was the youngest of 11 children of Elijah Crisp, the Badsey postmaster, and his wife, Rose Emily (née Jones), and was born at Badsey.
Stephen and Florrie had two daughters born after the war had ended. After initially living in Badsey, they moved to Coventry. Stephen and Florrie ended their days in Coventry, but their ashes were placed in the grave of Stephen’s parents.
