In the summer I found two types of bindweed in a hedge near Aldington. The white one has broader leaves and is called hedge bindweed (Calystegia sepium). The other flower which is mainly white with pink radial stripes is the field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis). These plants are tenacious weeds in the garden and almost impossible to control but it has to be said the flowers are very attractive.
