This patch of anemones in Badsey which had been present in the churchyard for many years has from 8 to 13 petals and typical of Anemone pavonina from Central and the eastern Mediterranean. Anemones were once grown commercially in Badsey and known as Scarlet Windflowers Anemone x fulgens. These typically had 8 scarlet oval petals and a cluster of black stamens; the shirt colours of Badsey Rangers football team, and single flowers were often worn in the buttonholes of supporters at football matches.
