Present-day address: Southbank, 36 Sunset Way, Aldington
A detached house, originally two cottages built in about the 1860s, converted to one house in 1980. White rendered house, tiled roof with dormer gables with finials. Until about 2012, Aldington Fruit Farm operated from here; the house has been unoccupied since then. By 2015, the surrounding orchards had become a housing development known as The Orchards. The house was used as an office by the builders and was surrounded by houses on Sunset Way. As at 2021, the house is scheduled for demolition. Barratt Homes has outline planning permission to erect up to two new dwellings on the site [see July 2023 postscript below].

Postscript July 2023 - On 3rd July 2023, the Badsey Society received the following email from David Richards, a partner at Kimben Construction LLP:
After reading the wonderful history of Southbank in Sunset Way on your website. I though that I would give you an update in case you were interested. We purchased this property from Barratt Homes last year and after a long delay in obtaining planning permission and dealing with ecology issues we have just started to demolish it to make way for 2 new homes. Today we carried out a bat survey on the roof and it was clear of bats so tomorrow we are able to progress with full demolition. One of the new houses will be named Southbank.
