Sladden family members visit the cottages at the rear of Seward House. When the Sladdens owned Seward House, these buildings were originally stables, and then used for storage: an apple store and a place for bikes, and ultimately converted into a garage for Juliet Sladden’s car. After the sale of Seward House in 1985, it was converted into a nursing home and these buildings were the sleeping quarters for the residents. After the closure of the nursing home, Seward House was converted back into residential accommodation, the main house being divided into two parts and two cottages built at the rear.
