Three Sisters

Dilnot and Bessie Sladden had eight sons and three daughters.  Like their female cousins in Badsey, none of the three daughters – Mabel Bessie (1876-1952), known as Maidie; Mary Agnes (1878-1967), known as Anne; Violet Susanna Coleman (1884-1955), known as Dolly – ever married.

The caption on the back of this photo says:  “MAS, DS, MBS at Dora Openshaw’s wedding on July 23rd 1940, taken in the garden at 185 Muritai Road before we left for the church, Eastbourne, NZ.”
