A “Certificate of Disembodiment on Demobilization, Army Form Z21”, was issued George Mourilyan Sladden on 16th February 1919.
There were four categories for demobilization: discharge, transfer to reserve, disembodiment, demobilization. Territorial Force units were “embodied” en masse on the outbreak of war, and were similarly “disembodied” at, or fairly soon, after the end of the war. Embodiment was a unit activity, deriving from very early times.
