Wedding of 22-year-old Arthur Sears (1880-1946) and 23-year-old Beatrice Alice Evans (1879-1968), both of Badsey, in the Warwick district in the summer of 1902.
Arthur was born at Badsey, the eldest of four children of Benjamin Sears and his wife, Caroline (née Pethard). Beatrice was born at Evesham, the sixth of seven children of Edward and Elizabeth Evans. They moved to Badsey in 1890.
Arthur and Beatrice had four children and remained in Badsey for the rest of their lives, living at Plas Gwyn, a new house built for them on Badsey Fields Lane and owned by Beatrice’s mother.
We are grateful to Arthur and Beatrice’s granddaughter, Jean Matson, for allowing us to publish these photos. Jean has written an article about her grandparents, based on her mother's memories.
