On 14th March 1942, 26-year-old John Leslie Pratt (1915-1992), known as Leslie, married 26-year-old Freda Joan Hall (1916-1988) at St James’ Church, Badsey.

Freda was born at Bengeworth in 1916, the third child of William Charles Hall and his wife, Maud (née Snell). She moved to Badsey (her father’s home village) with her family in 1927. The Hall family had lived in Badsey for several generations.
