1953 wedding – Michael Barnard & Pam Wheatley

Wedding of 24-year-old Michael John Barnard (1929-2020) and 24-year-old Olga Pamela Wheatley (known as Pam) on 8th April 1953 at St James’ Church, Badsey.

Michael, a market gardener, was born at Badsey the eldest of three children of John Barnard and his wife, Gladys Maud (née Byrd).  Pam, of Knowle Hill, was the daughter of Arthur Josiah Wheatley.  Both the Barnard and Wheatley families had lived in Badsey for several generations.

After marriage, Michael and Pam had one son and remained living in Badsey.  He enjoyed art and, in his latter years, many of his sketches appeared in the local press.
