Cinnabar Moth

Photographed in July on a house wall in Bretforton Road, this Cinnabar Moth, Tyria jacobaeae, is very easy to spot. The larvae are adapted to feed on Ragwort, which is toxic to most animals. The red colouration is a warning to would be predators, as the moth itself is poisonous.
