Iron plate marking field drain outlet

This ironwork was found, surrounded by brickwork, when the road over Longdon Hill was widened.  It indicated where a land drain entered the small brook which runs by the hill.  Information on the development of the road can be seen in the article - "Longdon Hill, Wickhamford - an accident blackspot".
