5. Maureen Spinks launching the project

Maureen's contribution to the project cannot be overstated. Through her energy and commitment, the project was conceived, funded and launched. Dozens of local people have joined the project thanks to her enthusiasm and drive. The range of activities she has organised is impressive both for their scope and their depth. She is at once both a serious historian and a talented organiser.
