MORE GERMAN PRISONERS

Despite the report which was made to the Worcestershire Food Production Committee on Wednesday that efforts to obtain possession of the  house opposite the Drill Hall at Evesham, so that accomodation for additional German prisoners could be found, had failed, we are glad to learn that the negotiations have been successful and that the authorities will obtain possession of the premises very shortly. The occupation of this cottage will mean that room will be found for thirty-five more Germans and they are expected to arrive at Evesham very shortly. It is very much regretted that the false rumours of the misbehaviour of the prisoners is notwithstanding the denials, still spreading through the country. It is only another example of the difficulty of overtaking a lie when once it has been started.
