ANOTHER BADSEY MAN KILLED

Official information has been received by his mother, Mrs Crane, of Mill Cottages, Badsey, that her son, Private Walter Crane, of the Worcesters, died in a field hospital in France of wounds received on July 2. Private Crane enlisted soon after the outbreak of the war and has seen a lot of fighting recently. His brother, Private Thomas Crane, of the Coldstream guards, was in all the early fighting, including the retreat from Mons. It will be remembered that he was buried by a shell and was in hospital for some time. He has now quite recovered and has been back at the front some time. A memorial service was held at Badsey Church on Friday.
