SUGGESTIONS MADE TO SOLVE LABOUR SHORTAGE
by Councillor Witts
- Children should be allowed to leave school at 12 years of age instead of 13 or 14.
- Timetables of schools should be altered so that the children should be free for half a day all through the week during the time of war.
In March 1915 Labour MP for West Ham South, Keir Hardie, became involved in this debate in parliament.
