LOSS TO BADSEY – Passing of Mrs A C Hall
It is with regret that we have to record the death of Mrs Agnes Clara Hall of the Silk Mills, Badsey, who died following a short illness, in Evesham Hospital, on January 5. Aged 59 years, Mrs Hall was very active and for the past 18 years had been a familiar figure in the village where she was employed the land by Messrs F Stewart and Son. A native of Bouts, Inkberrow, deceased was the eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs Alfred Watton of Coughton, Alcester. She was married at Bretforton in 1909 to Mr M Hall and they made their home in that village for a few years before moving to Badsey where she had lived for the past 37 years. Her husband predeceased her in February 1920. She is survived by three sons and two daughters, for whom much sympathy is felt.
The funeral service took place on Thursday week at St James’ Church, Badsey, being conducted by the Rev C E Stickings, Vicar of Bretforton. The interment took place in Badsey churchyard.
Family mourners who followed were: Mr R Hall, Mr Clifford Hall, Mr B Hall (sons), Mr & Mrs E Smith, Mr & Mrs S Sherwood (sons-in-law and daughters), Mr & Mrs P Watton (brother and sister-in-law), Mr & Mrs E Goddard, Mr & Mrs T Callow (brothers-in-law and sisters), Mrs G Hall, Miss L Hall, Mrs J Heath, Mrs A Haines (sisters-in-law), Mr B Haines (nephew), Mr & Mrs F Stewart (Senior), Mrs F Stewart (Junior).
There were numerous floral tributes including wreaths from Mr & Mrs F Stewart (employers), the staff of Messrs F Stewart and Son, also F Stewart (Junior), Mr Geoffrey Jones, Badsey (former employer), and one from neighbours at Mill Lane and Silk Mills, Badsey.
