BADSEY – MR F CLEAVER WEDS

Miss Margaret Kate Brailsford, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs Philip E Brailsford of Tower View, Brewers Lane, Badsey, and Mr Fred Cleaver, eldest son of Mr & Mrs F W Cleaver of No 1 Clayfield Road, Bretforton, were married in St James’ Church, Badsey, last Saturday.  The Vicar (Canon W C Allsebrooks, RD) officiated.  The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of rose pink crepe morocain with nigger brown hat with gloves and shoes to tone.  She carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern.  She was attended by Miss Dulcie Jelfs who wore a wine-coloured dress with accessories to match, and a pearl brooch, the gift of the bridegroom.  The bridesmaid carried a bouquet of apricot chrysanthemums.  Mr F W Cleaver junior, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man.  The hymns, “Lead us, Heavenly Father, lead us”, “The Voice that Breathed O’er Eden” and “Love Divine, all loves excelling” were sung.  Mr L Sharp was at the organ.  A reception was held later at the home of the bride.  Numerous presents were received, including one from the Women’s section of the Bretforton Branch of the British Legion of which the bride is a member.
