Chipping Norton

Friday evening

My darling Eugénie,

I postponed writing to you till to-day that I might tell you about the flower show but on the ground Mr Bliss asked me down to his house to meet some friends before the concert and now I only have ten minutes before post time.

I have been most successful in showing, both prizes for roses, also for gladioli, the Wilkins family nowhere in roses!

I will write to Richmond by first post to-morrow, till then, darling, good-bye, I could not bear that you should look in vain for a letter from your own loving

Julius Sladden
