My Darling Wife,

Just a line to say we are about starting, weather seems fine. Ridgeway is aboard all right.

I have seen a Brewery valuer and find curiously enough that there is a little brewery at Evesham in the market he will send me particulars to Plymouth, is it not odd?

They say I am looking better already so I hope you will find me all the better for the trip in a few days.

Good-bye my darling, God bless you.

I think you will feel a pleasure in receiving a line unexpectedly from

Your loving Husband

Julius Sladden

Love to all at Ramsgate

In great haste
