My Darling Wife,
I was so glad to get your letter this morning and to hear that the chicks were all right. I hope you are feeling bright and well this cold weather. I went down to see Grandma & Aunt Susan this morning the former is very comfortable although feeble, of course she wanted to hear all about you and the babies and was delighted to hear that little Jack walked, she was also pleased to hear of the Richmond folks through me. Aunt Susan has given me a parcel for you containing two pair of little shoes, her own work. Mother has had the little silver knife and fork done up and I shall bring it home. I went to Guston to-day and had some dinner with them, and called on Uncle Tom on my way home he is better, but unable to walk, met Mr & Mrs Richards there. I think I shall start home on Wednesday, see the Dentist in London, and come on down by the last train, when I rather expect my little wife will be glad to see me! I shall probably have time to call on Uncle Williams. It will not be any use your posting to me on Tuesday evening as I should not get the letter. You are a very good girl to have played the piano so long and you must have a good kiss for practicing. Glad you are likely to have a visitor before long. Kiss both our little ones for me, I shall be glad to see them again.
Now good night my dearest wife
Ever believe me
