My Dearest Wife,

I have just received your Saturday’s letters and was glad to have news of you all. This morning the weather looks decidedly better, though we had no rain yesterday, so I hope it is going to hold fine again.  Frank came over yesterday he talks of coming to us on Saturday for five or six days, Norah is not very strong it appears and he rather intimated that perhaps the change would do her good if he brought her for a few days, however he did not seem to think perhaps it was worth while for so short a time and I did not give any decided invitation, however if you feel inclined, but not otherwise, you might write and tell Edith to send the child if she likes and see if a little change would do her good.  I am glad you declined the dance, as far as I am concerned for I must devote all Thursday to business, and as you cannot dance it would be little pleasure to you.  I am going to write my Glasgow letter presently.  I shall address this to Badsey as you will then get it by first post to-morrow, I hope the other letters have come on from the office all right.

Give all the pets a good kiss from Papa and with much love to yourself my dearest Eugénie.

Believe me ever
Your affectionate Husband

Julius Sladden

Mother & Charlotte send love
