My Dearest Wife,

I got here last evening by 6.30 as the train was punctual.

I find my Mother quite bonnie, better than I expected, Charlotte also seems pretty well.  We are going to start at eleven o’clock for Sandwich and on to Deal by train so I will write before we go and post the letter in Sandwich, even if it does not reach you to-morrow morning Jack may bring it down in the afternoon.

I went to see Pillin yesterday but as there was an exposed nerve in the cavity he could not do much then, he has put a temporary stopping in to absorb the nerve and I have made another appointment for Tuesday when he says the tenderness will be removed so that he can go to work.  Charlotte says Dixon has a good specific for ringworm so I must bring some with me.  Do you think it would be a good thing to move May & Kathleen into the spare room for a bit? I saw Frank last night, Edith is in London and is going to bring May back from Richmond on Monday I believe.  The weather here is milder and looks rather like rain.

I shall not be able to go and see Aunt Susan till to-morrow.

Kiss the chicks for me and tell them Grandma and Auntie were glad to hear all about them.  With much love to you little wife.

I am ever your loving Husband

Julius Sladden

I was glad to get your letter on my arrival, hope Arthur is better.
