My Dearest Wife,
I was glad to get your letter from Bourg this morning and will write a few lines from the office by early post, thinking you may be leaving Paris to-morrow.
The chicks are all well and happy they were delighted this morning at Miss Fabling's proposal to have lessons outside as it is nice and warm. Dear little Baby is very jolly, when asked whose birthday it is he says “ponge cakes”. I brought him, for you and me, a large horse that he can ride upon, the children gave him a little horse and cash, he seems pleased with his presents.
The white duck has brought off 12 out of 14 eggs much to the general delight.
I am very busy for Mr Collier has gone away for a week or two.
I will wait to know your movements and then write again.
