My Dear Kathleen,
It’s my turn to write to you, as my letter of last week was an extra. May says your cake arrived on the Wednesday evening I can hardly make it out as it was only posted here that morning and parcel post is usually slower than the other. Ethel is progressing with your dressing gown, it is a sort of terra cotta pink in colour, Jack and I make suggestions as to mode of making up &c &c which are usually received with much scorn! Georgie told us that he had run in a paperchase as a junior hound I think he was rather proud of himself. Arthur is very full of the sports which take place next Monday and Tuesday, he say he is training hard and is going in for several events. I am going to Pandy to-morrow and shall stay the night on this journey. I do hope you will do extra well in the examination and then perhaps retrieve the misfortune of the ink pot, I do not think it quite fair that pure accidents of this sort should knock off so many marks and with some boys and girls it would have anything but a good effect on their work, of course it would be all the more honour now to get the prize. Mr Gepp was much pleased with his testimonial, we must send you a paper containing the account, they all left to-day, those remaining over the sale having been in lodgings at the Wilsons. There was a very crowded Church on Sunday evening for the farewell sermon, I stayed at home to look after the house and Cylla boy, he dearly likes to have me all to himself for a time. Mother has heard from Miss Pollard at last, she seemed pleased with your school. Jack will get a break in his work after April 10th and I think he will go to London for the Kings College Classes commencing May 4th. I think the poultry are doing better under his care there ought to be a good many broods hatched when you come home.
With love to you both
I remain
your affect. Father
