My dearest Wife,
I must write you a few lines this evening but I really have found it hard to keep abreast of my correspondence, I have written already this week to Jack, Kathleen, Ethel, Arthur and Cyril as also to May and Charlotte to Marseilles and Naples respectively, so you see I have not been exactly idle.
This morning I cycled from Sandwich to Ash in the morning and had a chat with Aunt Susan and also looked in at the brewery to see Arthur Gardner, then I had lunch at Delf House and walked with Frank to the new building site – Sandwich by the sea, I then cycled here in time for dinner, the weather has been really quite kind.
I suppose you reached Weybridge yesterday and although I have had a pleasant little holiday I am looking forward to joining you again on Saturday, my own dear wife.
Did you see the Orantes left Gibraltar yesterday, to-morrow she should be at Marseilles so we may get letters soon, I have posted them some papers as well as writing.
I wonder if Ethel has got a companion now Arthur has gone?
You will have heard from my post card of yesterday about when to expect me at Weybridge, tell Fanny I shall be glad to put in a short visit at Broadlands as she always make one very welcome.
You remember I have no dress clothes with me but hardly expect they will be wanted, Ethel could post them if necessary.
I will leave any further news till we meet and with fond love, dear
I am ever
Your affectionate Husband
