My dear May,
I expect you were much rejoiced about Boo, he withdrew from the second group exam yesterday evening and came home for he found the Ch.Ch. Ex to be of the excellent value of £85 per ann so very wisely accepted it, at the best he could only have got £80 in the second group so it was not worth pursuing it for the sake of the title of Scholar, moreover he was expected to close with the Ch. Ch. offer at once and of course “the house” is a very nice College to belong to, we think you will be very proud of your pupil!
Did you know that Arthur hopes after all to get a day or two at Xmas, it will be nice to have you all together on 25th.
I have been to see Judy at her dancing class this afternoon she certainly gets on very well and quite enjoys it, Ethel took her up and was going to take her to tea at the afternoon Badminton.
I hope Kath has been doing well in her exam, it has been difficult for her to find time for the work however if she succeeds it will be worth the trouble and expense.
Cyril will stay here over Sunday, he has made a good recovery from his accident, Mother will probably go to the Brecon play on Monday 21st and it is just possible I might work it in with a Pandy journey due that week, if Mother goes she will take Cardiff on the way to get new glasses fitted.
We have had some stormy weather here and the roads are awfully muddy, a little frost would now be acceptable.
When may we expect to see you home, your time at Ringwood Hall is getting very short.
I have another letter to write so goodbye for the present.
Love from all
your affectionate Father
Julius Sladden
