My dearest Eugénie,

You have been such a dear good little wife to write so often that I must send you a few lines this evening which you ought to receive on Tuesday morning.

We seem to have brought good weather to Oban since our return on Friday evening.  Yesterday we had a nice day for our trip to Melfort Pass and to-day has been lovely, we went to the episcopal church this morning and had a good sermon from the Rector who is also Dean of Argyll and the Isles.  During the day we have taken some lovely walks and have covered some 12 to 14 miles.  To-morrow, if fine, we hope to do the Staffa and Iona trip.  Tuesday morning we leave by boat for the Crinan canal then on the Columba for Glasgow travelling down by L. & N.W. to B’ham and then crossing to Snow Hill to catch the early train via Stratford which should land us at Badsey station about 9 A.M. so you may expect us to a somewhat late breakfast.

I shall be glad to see you all again and to get the assured welcome from my dearest wife.

Your loving Husband

Julius Sladden
