My dearest Husband,

Thank you very much for your letter written yesterday & which I received at dinner-time; Dr Coleman saw me on Friday & has ordered me Cod Liver oil & other medicines & says I must be careful of damp or fog.  My cough certainly seems better yesterday & today & I hope all the various medicines will soon make me feel quite strong again.  It is very good of you dear to wish me to stay longer than Wednesday, but unless I don’t feel so well, I had rather go home, as I am sure you all want me & I shall be very glad to see you all again.  So unless you hear to the contrary you can expect me by the 1.30 from Paddington on Wednesday, reaching Badsey station at 5.20, I believe.

I must write to the two little boys as they are the only ones who have not had a letter from me yet, so I must reserve any news for them.

With much love, dear Julius

Believe me
Your loving wife
Eugénie N Sladden
