My dearest Husband,
I was glad to get your post-card today & hear you had got safely to Deal. We have still a cold north east wind here & I hope it is not too bleak in Kent. I expect you have been to Sandwich today & hope you found Frank fairly comfortable.
Yesterday Ethelwyn & May walked up to Evesham, did some shopping & had a look at the churches. Today they & Arthur went for a walk round Blackminster & Bretforton, while Cyril walked up to Evesham to get something for me & brought back your bicycle. Ethelwyn will like to remain with us over Easter, she had a rather better account of Archie from home this morning.
The boys have pruned the roses in the front, also done a good deal to the pergola, at present I see them carrying some water to water the new grass seeds.
The rain keeps of at present though the glass goes back.
Ethel had a letter from Jack today, there was no news, he says his time is taken up with claims, eating & sleeping & very little else. Is there any chance of Maidie coming to us? You must give her my love & to all the family.
There seems really no news to give you & it is nearly post time, so with much love, dear
I am
Your loving wife
Eugénie N Sladden
P.S. Cooper’s man came & began painting the summer house this morning.
