My dearest Juliet,
You will like to have a few lines before Sunday, though there is but little to relate. I am glad you have nice room companions, you will like being with Eileen & Joyce is also rather a friend of yours, I fancy. How is Miss Lacey? Was it correct that she had been ill in the holidays?
Arthur went up to town yesterday, he was not getting on as fast as he would have liked, so decided to go into Hospital & be properly looked after; I hope the Sister will be very strict with him & that he will improve rapidly. Of course he cannot go to Harold’s wedding tomorrow, which is a pity. Dolly & May have gone to Worcester today, I wonder if they will have your guide! Last night they all went to the Choir Concert which was a very dismal affair, they did not stay quite all the time. Father was also out at his Masonic Lodge, so I had a solitary evening & amused myself doing up accounts & tearing up old letters. I hope you & Miss Hamilton will be on more cordial terms this term, how goes the [?], I hope it is regular. Has Miss Grierson asked you anything about Mela? One of the little girls at St Leonards wrote to Ethel yesterday & asked if she might have a doll to dress for the Bazaar, such a nice proper little letter! I hope your cold has quite disappeared & that you will have no more this term.
With much love from us all dear,
I am
Your loving mother
Eugénie N Sladden
P.S. Who is Margaret’s room mate this term & has Violet Kurunda come back?
