My dearest Julius,
I was pleased to get your letter & also Ethel’s yesterday, so Mr Gepp cannot manage the Flower Show, I am not exactly sorry as now I can keep to my original plan as regards going to Charlotte’s.
It has been lovely here today & Aunt has insisted on my going to sit by the sea a good part of the day, I am beginning this letter in my room after dressing for dinner. Cyril has just arrived, I think he & Mela will have a fine day tomorrow, the latter is coming over to lunch.
Saturday morning-There was not time to finish this before dinner so now I must get it posted it early so that you may hear tomorrow morning. I hope you are all getting on well in my absence, I am having a nice restful visit & it should do me good.
Aunt is really wonderful, she does quite a lot for a woman of her age, but tires more easily than when I was last here. She is going to Droitwich the end of July; the Bruce-Fellows joining her there for a fortnight, she made up her mind she would not go to Buxton again, last year’s visit not having been a success.
There was a Sweet Pea & Rose Show at Devonshire Park on Tuesday, we went in for a little while, there were some very fine flowers which you would have enjoyed.
Cyril & Dolly have gone out to shop for Aunt, the former will …..
