I was glad to get your postcard this afternoon and must send you a line by tomorrow morning’s post, so that you may get it on Monday morning. It was lovely here yesterday and I had quite a walk with Ethel before dinner and afterwards sat out in the sun for half an hour. Today has not been so bright. Brailsford put the cow out in the orchard a little while as it was much drier. We have all been busy today and tomorrow the girls mean to manage without anyone, with only three of us in the house they say they can manage. We finished the marmalade today and I have covered it down this afternoon. I suppose you have been viewing the flat this afternoon. How was Arthur looking? I hope you will find Juliet better tomorrow, I wonder whether you will see Miss Lacey.
I did not send on Miss Buller’s letter to you, old Mrs Sladden was evidently very much pleased with your letter and with the brandy, the poor old thing has kept her bed all the winter.
Pussy gave us a fright yesterday, we never saw him from Thursday afternoon till early this morning when he walked into Ethel’s bedroom and settled down on her bed; today he has scarcely left the house. Weren’t you pleased at the Leith election? It was quite a surprise.
Give my love to Kathleen and the boys and with much to yourself from the girls and myself.
