My dear Kathleen

I have just got your p.c., I suppose I shall have to give up going to Bancrofts on May 3rd & come to you that week-end.  Mary had suggested this morning going with me there.  I hope the boys won’t be very disappointed.  Of course if you found it possible after all to get me a room next Sat in time to let me know, I would come then if not don’t bother & I will give up Bancrofts & come May 3rd.

Wednesday  I did not finish this yesterday as I went out & I thought there was no hurry.

Ethel & I had a nice day at Windsor on Monday we got there in plenty of time for prayers.  Everybody was very nice & seemed pleased to see us, including Miss Stoker who came up to us in the hall & was most affable, but she looks no more like a head mistress than you do, or perhaps rather less.  We had a long talk with Sister M.S. & one with Sister Miriam.

Ethel had tea with Miss Cave & I with Kitty & Agnes in Kitty’s room.  We saw the result of Ruth’s exam in the paper when we got back here, they had not seen it at Clewer.  I think she has done wonderfully considering how ill she was.  Sister Miriam told she did nothing the second day & did not finish any of her papers.

Ethel is going home this afternoon by the 4.45 from Paddington.  I am glad Mother will have her back, I am afraid you must have been very busy without either of us.

It is such a warm day today, quite summer-like.

We enjoyed the concert last night very much indeed, Ethel was very glad she stayed for it.  Anna & I are going over to Strawberry Hill when we have seen Ethel off.  I have not seen Edwin & Eleanor yet.  Miss Johnson goes tomorrow so we shall be a smaller party soon.

Have you heard that Miss Smith & Miss White have booked their passage home on June 19th.  Sister Miriam showed us a photo of Miss Smith’s sitting-room.

Let me know about coming, if I don’t hear of course I shall come May 3rd.

With much love from
your loving sister

May E Sladden
