When I was at home on Saturday Ethel showed me the beautiful tray that you and she have given us. Thank you very much indeed for it, I like it immensely and feel sure that Mary will too – I’m longing to see her presiding over it. You are all determined at home that at least we shall be able to have tea! The silver tea-set can only be described as magnificent, you will no doubt be shown it when you get home for I’m sure Father and Mother are rightly proud of it. It looks just right on your tray, and with May’s tea-set around will do credit to any drawing room. “Hercules” too will aid in the display at tea-time. I had seven presents when at home, including gifts from Mrs Ashwin, Miss Holmes, Brailsford, Fanny Jelfs and Louisa, the Allsebrooks and – Mrs Hands and Pa (we think he didn’t know anything about it till I thanked him).
Mary has had a good many things this week also, so the list must be getting a long one.
I hope you are quite fit and that work is going smoothly. I’m interested to hear of your plans for the next year and hope all will go well.
I bought a lot of clothes today to supplement the wedding garment. Must get George round to see if they’re all right.
I probably shan’t see you till the great day on the 14th. I suppose when we are settled here it won’t be very difficult for you to come and see us.
