Dear Uncle Julius
I have to send you acknowledgement and thanks for papers and two parcels that have arrived via Badsey. The parcel that came last night had been in No 5 Convalescent Camp before coming here, for what reason I cannot say for the address was perfectly plain. Last night also I received a cheerful letter from Juliet. It is good of her to write when she is so busy preparing to move to London.
I am sorry to hear that Aunt Edith and Marian have been so poorly and I trust it won't be long before both have recovered from their indisposition. It is fortunate that May is able to find someone to assist her during Marian's absence. I am afraid Aunt Edith's illness has been a trying one from what Juliet says, but I hope the worst is over now. Juliet asks if there is anything that I require. I am really quite comfortable here, but I will let you know if there is anything that I want sent over. Aunt Lottie is also very good in inquiring about my needs. I am still feeling about as usual, but it is hard sometimes to feel cheerful and contented in a place like this where there is so little to occupy one's mind. We have plenty of reading matter at the various institutes, but I was never a great reader. I hear that a New Zealand mail is about due at the base. Letters are always welcome and there are many anxious inquiries about the time an overseas mail is expected.
I expect Juliet will be in London by the time this letter reaches you so I will acknowledge her letter and address it to the address that Jack has given me.
Good wishes to you all.
From
Your affectionate nephew
