My Darling
I am sorry this will not be more than a note as I must get some fresh air today as I got no time off yesterday owing to pressure of work. We sent off all but three of the Belgians soldiers yesterday, some to the Front and others to convalescent homes. The Belgian ward is closed for cleaning and we have been very busy cleaning out cupboards etc today. At five I am to report myself for orders as to change of work and am wondering where I am going.
Darling – would you mind passing this cheque through your bank for me. I am not known here so cannot ask any shop to oblige me. Let me have the amount in notes.
I had a nice letter from Mother. She seems quite happy in France.
I was glad to hear from you this morning and wish I could send you more news now but my next letter will be a better one.
All my love – Sweetheart – God bless you.
Ever your loving
Mela
