Sisters’ Quarters
Aug 11th 1915
My own dear Cyril
We have a fine day at last. It has rained every day for weeks and I think I must take advantage of the weather and go for a blow into the country.
One of the nurses snapshotted this group on the steps of the terrace. I’ve got other copies so it won’t matter if you lose this one.
I saw ? the other day after an interval of 2 or 3 weeks. She thought I was looking fat and well!
I am looking forward to another letter from you, the papers are full of fighting in the Dardanelles and it makes me anxious for news of you.
I will write you a lengthier letter tonight and tomorrow but feel I must get some sunshine while it is good enough to shine.
This letter seems hardly long enough to send but all the same it may catch an earlier mail than one posted tomorrow and will serve to let you know all is well with me.
Sweetheart – the longing for you has been almost unbearable these last few days. Hurry up and get through the Dardanelles and come back to me.
The news in the papers of yesterday and today sounds more promising.
Goodbye for the present – dear Love – I wish I could see you just for a second even. All my love.
From
Your devoted
Mela
